How air tube technology works
The final section of the cable is a hollow tube rather than a wire. Sound travels up it as acoustic waves, the same way a stethoscope carries sound, so there is no speaker coil, no wiring and no electronics sitting next to your head. The braided nylon cord below it is infused with copper, which DefenderShield specifies as shielding against extremely low frequency (ELF) emissions from the cable itself.
Because these are wired headphones, there is no Bluetooth transmitter and no radio frequency signal at your ear.
